These are the terms that govern your use of Heirlume. By signing up or using the service, you agree to them. We've kept the legalese to a minimum without sacrificing the substance.
Heirlume is a private workspace for capturing your estate folio, generating attorney-reviewable plans, and connecting the people in your plan to the data they need. Heirlume is software. It is not a law firm, an investment adviser, an accountant, or an insurance agency.
Heirlume produces estate snapshots, AI-generated narratives, recommendations, document extractions, and protection scores for informational purposes. This output is not legal advice, not investment advice, and not tax advice. You are responsible for confirming any decision with a qualified attorney, financial adviser, or tax professional before acting on it.
Heirlume does not draft legally binding documents. Drafts produced by AI features are starting points for review by a licensed attorney admitted in your jurisdiction.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Heirlume. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for keeping your account credentials and Vault PIN secure. If your credentials are compromised, contact us at security@heirlume.ai immediately.
Heirlume offers a free tier and paid tiers (Core, Premium, Family Office). Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe. Charges renew automatically until you cancel from the Stripe customer portal, which you can do at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate refunds for partial months.
Pricing may change. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before any increase takes effect for your account.
You retain all rights to the documents, account data, and other content you upload or enter ("Your Content"). By uploading Your Content, you grant Heirlume a limited license to store, process, and display it solely to operate the service for you and the people you authorize. We do not use Your Content for advertising, for resale, or to train external AI models.
You are responsible for having the right to upload anything you upload — for example, joint documents you share with a spouse should be uploaded with their knowledge.
Heirlume lets you invite beneficiaries, executors, trustees, and guardians to connect to your plan. Each connection is consent-based: invitees must acknowledge the role before they appear in the Family Graph. Each role sees only the data you've authorized them to see. You may revoke any connection at any time.
Heirlume relies on Plaid for financial connectivity, Stripe for billing, Anthropic for AI processing, WorkOS for authentication, Convex for storage and compute, Resend for email, and Vercel for hosting. Each is bound by a data processing agreement. Their respective terms and privacy policies apply to your interactions with those services through Heirlume.
You agree not to:
You can cancel your subscription and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, especially the acceptable-use rules above. On termination, your data is purged within 30 days, except where we are required to retain limited records by law.
Heirlume is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We aim for high uptime and rapid recovery from incidents, but we don't promise perfection. We will notify users of significant outages or security incidents.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Heirlume disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The output of AI features (extractions, reconciliations, walkthroughs, scores, recommendations) is generated automatically and may contain errors. You should review it before relying on it.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Heirlume's total liability arising from or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim and (b) one hundred US dollars. Heirlume is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Heirlume, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from claims arising out of (a) Your Content, (b) your use of the service, or (c) your violation of these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. Each party waives any objection to that venue.
We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will notify account holders by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
